Who is the Arizer Solo 3 for?
The Arizer Solo 3 is the flagship of Arizer's portable range, designed in Canada by a company known for vaporizers that keep going for years. It pairs Arizer's most powerful portable heater yet with an all-glass vapour path, and the reviews are consistently strong. If flavour, battery life, and build quality top your list, the Solo 3 delivers all three.
The Solo 3 is a large vape. The glass mouthpiece on top means the whole thing will not fit in a pocket. In return you get over three hours of battery and a body that stays comfortable in the hand. It is happiest at home: on the couch, at the desk, or perched on a water pipe.
The Latest V2.0, Straight From Arizer
Arizer updated the Solo 3 to version 2.0 in 2025, refining the firmware and switching to universal USB-C Power Delivery charging. Every unit we stock is the latest V2, so you never have to wonder if you are getting an older first run.
A Body Built to Last
The Solo 3 has a full aluminium body with stainless steel plates at the top and bottom. It stands about 13 cm tall, around 19 cm with the glass installed, and weighs about 280 g, a little less than a full drinks can.
Despite the metal build, the exterior stays comfortable to the touch during use. The large body spreads the heat, so the vape is comfortable to hold and easy to pass around a group.
A colour display with adjustable brightness shows temperature and battery at a glance. Plenty of original Solos bought over a decade ago are still in use. The Solo 3 carries the same reputation for reliability.
The Most Powerful Arizer Heater Yet
Inside sits a ceramic convection heater feeding the oven. It warms the chamber from the bottom and the sides, so the herb heats evenly.
The heating is hybrid, like cooking with an oven and a pan at the same time. Hot air flows through the herbs while the warm chamber walls heat them directly.
The result: ready in about 15 seconds, and in our testing a full chamber done in two to three minutes. Older Arizer portables needed ten minutes or more to finish the same chamber.
Two Modes: Session and On-Demand
Session mode keeps the heater running for a relaxed sit-down. You get three customisable temperature presets and a timer you can set anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes.
On-demand mode heats only when you ask. Press the up button and the Solo 3 is ready in about 15 seconds. It heats mostly with hot air, at roughly 80% convection.
Each heat-up holds enough warmth for several draws, and a residual heat meter on the screen shows how much is left. Many on-demand vapes give one draw per press. The Solo 3 gives you several.
Flavour From an All-Glass Path
Arizer's signature glass pieces have a herb chamber at one end and a mouthpiece at the other, separated by a built-in glass screen. With the glass in the oven, vapour touches nothing but borosilicate on its way to your lips.
Glass adds no taste of its own, so the herbs come through clean and unmasked. The flavour stays clean through most of the session. That is why people who care about flavour often pick the Solo 3 to taste the differences between their herbs.
At high temperatures the vapour can feel warm through the shorter 90 mm glass. A longer 110 mm glass mouthpiece (sold separately) adds cooling length for smoother high-temperature sessions.
Temperature Control to the Degree
The Solo 3 heats anywhere from 50 °C to 220 °C, adjustable in precise 1 °C steps. Temperatures around 175-190 °C preserve lighter compounds and terpenes, while 200-215 °C extracts more material in fewer draws.
A popular approach is temperature stepping: start low for flavour, then step up through the three presets as the session goes on.
The 50 °C floor exists for aromatherapy. With the glass aroma dish (sold separately), the Solo 3 doubles as a diffuser for essential oils and dried botanicals.
XL Glass Opens Up the Airflow
The XL glass system is designed for the Solo 3. It eases the tighter draw of earlier Arizer portables. The XL chamber holds about 0.5 g, double the standard glass's 0.25 g. Its screen with an extra hole opens up the airflow more than the standard screen.
One XL glass mouthpiece and one XL water pipe adapter come in the box, alongside the standard versions. Standard glass suits solo sessions and the smoothest flavour. XL is for groups, longer sessions, and an easier draw.
The deeper XL chamber also takes whole or coarsely ground herbs, so the Solo 3 is forgiving about grind.
Loading the Chamber
Loading is simple: dip the chamber end of the glass straight into your ground herbs to scoop them up, then tamp lightly. For the smoothest, most flavourful vapour, Arizer recommends a coarse grind or whole herbs and no metal screen.
The Solo 3 has no dosing capsule system, but pre-loading works just as well. Fill several glass pieces at home, cap them with the four silicone caps from the box, and carry them in the travel tubes.
You can add extra silicone caps and a soft-shell case that holds the vape and up to six glass pieces, which is enough for a full day away from home.
Made for Water Pipes
Two 14 mm water pipe adapters come in the box, one standard and one XL. The Solo 3 works with a water pipe from day one. Each adapter has a built-in herb chamber and a frosted glass-on-glass connection.
The vape sits upside down on top of the pipe, and the display flips automatically so you can still read it. On-demand mode works especially well here, and the heater keeps up with fast draws through water.
Water cooling makes high-temperature sessions noticeably smoother. Pass-through charging is supported, so a low battery does not have to end the session.
How to Use the Arizer Solo 3
The controls are a directional pad plus a menu button. Once your presets are set, daily use is straightforward. A typical session looks like this:
- Loading: Grind coarsely or use whole herbs. Dip the chamber end of the glass into the herbs to scoop them up, tamp lightly, and never fill past the rim.
- Inserting: Slide the glass mouthpiece into the oven and set the silicone cap aside.
- Heating: Choose session mode for a longer sit-down or on-demand for quick draws. A beep and the screen tell you when it is ready.
- Inhaling: Draw slowly and steadily. Early in the session, hold the vape roughly level so loose herbs stay in place. Between on-demand draws, remove and cap the glass so residual heat does not keep cooking the herbs.
- Stirring: Halfway through, give the chamber a stir with the included stainless steel tool for a more even extraction.
- Finishing: Session mode shuts off on its own when the timer ends. Empty the chamber while it is still warm so the used herbs tap out easily.
Battery for Days, Charged Like a Phone
The internal battery delivers up to three hours of continuous use, roughly 100 on-demand draws, or up to a week of periodic sessions. In practice that means charging once or twice a week.
The battery is built in and cannot be swapped. Charging runs over USB-C Power Delivery. It uses universal USB-C PD charging, though Arizer advises sticking with the included charger. A cable and wall adapter are included.
A full charge takes about three hours, and in our testing five minutes on the cable is enough for a few sessions. Pass-through charging is supported, so you can keep using the Solo 3 while it is plugged in, as long as a little charge remains.
Cleaning Made Simple
The Solo 3 is among the easiest vaporizers to clean because only the glass needs regular attention. Soak the glass pieces in isopropyl alcohol for a couple of hours, rinse with hot water, and let them dry.
The oven needs only an occasional wipe with a lightly dampened cotton swab. Empty the chamber while it is still warm after each session, and the glass screen stays clear for longer.
Solo 3 vs Air Max
The Air Max is Arizer's mid-size portable from the same Air/Solo family, built around the all-glass approach. It offers a replaceable battery and a slimmer body that slips into a pocket more easily.
The Solo 3 answers with more power and longer battery life. Its heater finishes a chamber noticeably faster, and the XL glass doubles capacity to about 0.5 g with wider airflow.
For pocket carry, pick the Air Max. For power and endurance at home, pick the Solo 3.
Solo 3 vs Venty
The Venty is the flagship portable from Storz & Bickel, the German makers of the Volcano. It brings adjustable airflow with a very light draw, a more pocketable shape, and app connectivity. Both vapes are ready in seconds.
The Solo 3 counters with an all-glass path and up to three hours of battery life. It also costs less and ships with four glass pieces, including two water pipe adapters that are often sold separately.
If an effortless draw matters most, the Venty earns its price. If flavour purity and a battery that lasts for days come first, the Solo 3 is hard to beat.
Solo 3 vs Mighty+
The Mighty+ is Storz & Bickel's long-standing benchmark portable. It offers dosing capsules, a well-established accessory ecosystem, and fast full-session extraction.
The Solo 3 responds with a pure glass path and over three hours of battery life. It also gives you both session and on-demand modes, while the Mighty+ runs sessions only. And where the Mighty+ uses a plastic cooling unit, the Solo 3 keeps the vapour path in glass.
For capsule convenience, pick the Mighty+. For flavour and endurance, pick the Solo 3.
Solo 3 vs Tinymight 2
The Tinymight 2 is a compact convection portable from Finland and a favourite among enthusiasts. It heats almost instantly, runs true on-demand, and uses a replaceable 18650 battery.
The Solo 3 delivers several draws from every heat-up, while the Tinymight 2 gives one per button press. Its internal battery also runs for up to three hours, longer than a single 18650 cell typically provides. The heating element carries a lifetime warranty.
The Tinymight 2 rewards technique and travels better. The Solo 3 asks less of you and runs longer between charges.
Recommended Accessories
Right now we offer a 25% discount on all accessories when you buy any vaporizer here at MagicVaporizers. These are the add-ons we would pick for the Solo 3.
Soft-shell Case: Carries the vape, up to six glass pieces, and the charger in padded pockets. The box does not include a case, so this fills the gap.
XL Glass Mouthpiece (90 mm): Pre-load a second XL glass and swap between sessions without repacking.
Arizer Grinder: Gives the coarse, even grind the Solo 3 works best with. You can also scoop-load straight from it. Grinders get an even bigger discount: 35% off when bought together with a vaporizer.
Silicone Glass Caps (4-pack): Seal pre-loaded glass for the day, and stop residual heat from cooking herbs between on-demand draws.
TightVac MiniVac: An airtight, smell-proof container that keeps ground herbs fresh and ready for the next glass piece.
Glass Mouthpiece (110 mm): The longest glass option, giving vapour more cooling distance for high-temperature sessions.
Curved Glass Mouthpiece: Lets the vape stand upright on the table while the mouthpiece angles towards you.
Tipped Glass Mouthpiece (70 mm): The food-grade plastic tip stays comfortable on the lips when the glass runs warm.
Glass Mouthpiece (70 mm): Shorter than the 90 mm piece in the box, and worth adding so you can pre-load several glass pieces in advance.
XL Water Pipe Adapter (14 mm): A second XL adapter so one can soak while the other sits on the water pipe.
Water Pipe Adapter (14 mm): The standard-chamber adapter for smaller loads through water.
Glass Aroma Dish: Turns the Solo 3 into a low-temperature diffuser for essential oils and dried botanicals.
Screens (6-pack): Stainless steel screens that catch finely ground herb before it falls through the glass screen.
Warranty Information
The Arizer Solo 3 comes with a lifetime warranty on the heating element, a 2-year limited warranty on the vaporizer itself for defects in materials and workmanship, and a 1-year warranty on the battery. Glass accessories are not covered. Every Arizer Solo 3 we sell here at MagicVaporizers is an authentic Arizer product.
