This is the wide-body version of the simplest Santa Cruz Shredder: one 70 mm grinding chamber under a toothed lid. It grinds enough for several sessions in one go and all of it comes out of one chamber, with no screens or extra compartments in between.

The 70 mm diameter is the whole reason this version exists. It gives your fingers real leverage, so dense, sticky material that jams smaller grinders goes through this one without effort, and the deep chamber keeps the ground material from spilling when you work outdoors. The patented teeth have flat tops, so they cut the material cleanly instead of crushing it, and the result is the fluffy, even consistency that gives a vaporizer the best extraction.

Because there are only two parts, you just wipe it clean instead of taking it apart, and the rounded chamber floor lets you scoop out all of the material with a fingertip or a tool. The knurled grip is deep enough to turn the full chamber one-handed.

Like every Santa Cruz Shredder it is machined in Santa Cruz, California from medical-grade, ultrasonically cleansed anodised aluminium, with the friction-ring threading that will not jam or catch at an angle and a rare earth magnet in the lid. The original design was good enough that almost nothing has changed since 2007.
